Terms of sale

These terms apply when you place an order on this website for collection in our Carlow shop.

Last updated: 8 August 2026

Draft for owner and solicitor review before launch. These terms describe how the shop and this website actually operate, but they have not been reviewed by a legal professional and are not legal advice.

Ordering

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Your order is accepted when your payment has been confirmed and we have sent your order confirmation. If we cannot accept it — for example an item turns out to be unavailable — we will contact you and refund you in full.

When you check out we hold the stock for your order for a short period while you pay. If payment is not completed within that window the hold is released and the items go back on sale.

Prices and payment

  • All prices are in euro and include VAT where it applies.
  • The price you pay is the price shown at the moment your order is accepted.
  • Payment is taken online through SumUp before collection.
  • Prices can change, and mistakes occasionally happen. If an item is priced obviously incorrectly we will contact you before charging you, and you may cancel.

Collection

Orders are collected in store — we do not deliver. Bring your order reference. We hold paid orders for five days from the day they are ready; after that we may return the items to stock and refund you, minus any items that have perished.

Availability and substitutions

Stock figures on this site reflect what is in the shop, but a physical shop is also selling the same items over the counter. If something sells out between your order and your collection, we will contact you and either refund that item or agree a substitute with you. We never substitute without asking.

Age-restricted products

Where any product we sell is age-restricted under Irish law, it will only be handed over in store to someone who can show they are of legal age. If you cannot, we will refund that item.

Your rights

Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law, including your rights when goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose. See refunds and returns.

Liability

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, nor for business losses. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and disputes fall to the Irish courts. Questions about these terms: carlowtropical@gmail.com.
